Chugoku Marine Paints Ltd. has patented a paint with good surface smoothness, film strength and hardness combined with long-term antifouling properties. The coatings are obtained from storage-stable compositions with low viscosity and high thixotropy that contain organopoly-siloxane with terminal functional groups capable of condensation reaction, hydrophobic silica and, optionally, hydrophilic silica with catalyst.
An antifouling agent and colorant are also included in the formulation, according to the patent literature
